**Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv: Great atmosphere and facilities, but location and noise are worth considering** We stayed at Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv with several families and children of different ages. Overall, it's an interesting place with some excellent facilities, but there are a few things families should be aware of before booking. **Location and surroundings:** The hostel is located in South Tel Aviv, which is certainly not the nicest part of the city. The neighborhood feels rather rough, with some questionable characters hanging around, and we even spotted rats outside. It's not necessarily the area where you would want younger kids walking around on their own. **Parking:** Parking is quite challenging. There is a parking lot right next to the hostel, but it costs 150 NIS only until 7:00 AM the following morning. There are some cheaper alternatives nearby, but finding an available spot is difficult. If you're coming by car, definitely plan ahead. **Facilities and atmosphere:** The hostel itself is actually very well designed. There is a huge, nicely decorated communal dining and lounge area with a billiard table, plenty of seating, and a spacious shared kitchen. It's a great setup for groups, families, and travelers who enjoy meeting other people. The staff were friendly and helpful, which definitely contributed positively to our stay. There's also a rooftop bar and seating area, which is a pretty cool place to hang out. However, in the evenings it's mainly an adult atmosphere, with people drinking and smoking. You may also encounter intoxicated guests around the hostel, so it's not always the most family-friendly environment. **Rooms:** The rooms are well equipped, and there are different room sizes, including rooms for 4, 6, and 12 people. Families can book an entire room for themselves, which is a great option. One downside is the noise from airplanes approaching Ben Gurion Airport. Planes frequently pass overhead, and the noise is definitely noticeable. **Breakfast:** Breakfast was a pleasant surprise! It's included and served buffet-style, with fresh salads, really good bread, and good self-service coffee machines. Simple but tasty, and a great way to start the day. **Activities and social experience:** One of the hostel's biggest strengths is its international atmosphere. If you enjoy meeting other travelers, exchanging stories, or connecting with locals and people from around the world, this is definitely a good place. The hostel also offers organized day tours to destinations such as the Dead Sea, Samaria, and the Gaza envelope, making it an interesting base for exploring different parts of Israel. **Overall:** Abraham Hostel offers excellent communal facilities, friendly staff, good breakfast, and a lively international atmosphere. It's especially suitable for backpackers, younger travelers, groups, and families with older children who appreciate the hostel experience. For families with small children, however, the rough surroundings, occasional drunk guests, smoking on the rooftop, and aircraft noise are worth considering. **A good hostel experience with plenty of character, but definitely not the same as staying in a quiet, family-oriented hotel.**
