Dragon Men is a gay bar in Shinjuku Ni-chōme, Tokyo's main gay district. Unlike many of the area's tiny upstairs bars, it has an open front at street level, and on busy nights the crowd spills onto the pavement. It's a straightforward drinks bar, and a good first stop for visitors since you don't need Japanese or a regular's introduction. It's busiest late on Friday and Saturday nights and before holidays. Expect a mixed crowd of locals, expats and tourists, mostly gay men. Ni-chōme's other bars are a few steps away, and Shinjuku-sanchōme metro station is the nearest stop.

The drinks were quite strong and definitely had the potential to sneak up on you. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff and guests were friendly, and the music selection was excellent. It was the kind of place where you can easily relax, enjoy the vibe, and lose track of time.

Perhaps because it's a relatively inexpensive store, the staff were generally not very friendly and seemed to be doing only the bare minimum. Due to its location, the majority of the customers were foreigners.

Came on a Tuesday, a bit slow but we enjoyed our visit. There was a special; all you can drink for $2000 with snacks included. Naheek was working the door, bar, and making rounds to customers, he was super kind, funny, and insightful. A welcoming environment for tourist all around.
