Hamilton Hotel

Great. Miscommunication with the front staff about the room. Once that was cleared up. Every thing was good

wished I had read up about the noise issue prior to booking. What a waste of money. Typing this at 3am with music blaring and being unable to sleep

Great hotel, but the noise from the surrounding clubs can be unbearable. Earplugs are a must. Noise goes until 5 am.

(Keep in mind we were here Tuesday morning through Friday morning and we were facing the front of the hotel which is further away from the back club side) Honestly I had no problem sleeping especially since this was our first hotel of our trip and we were super jet lagged so I think everything worked in our favor, didn’t use ear plugs at all. You can def hear music, but more so the bass on the front side of the hotel. And we never went clubbing once lol. The music does not stop till around 4-5am everyday so I would just make sure to ask for a room towards the front of the hotel. The staff was very nice and spoke English well. Yes, this location is close to a subway station, but you have to walk allllll the way down which was kind of annoying just to get to your subway. Uber is so cheap in Korea that we just took a car everywhere. Itaewon is good to stay if you want to be closer to Gangnam and Seongsu without actually staying there I think.

Even though I'm not that sensitive, it was a bit tough because the surroundings were so noisy that I kept waking up. I only managed to sleep soundly after 5 AM when the club noise died down.

I like large beds, so I booked a canopy bed, but they said they upgraded me and gave me two open ones... I didn't bother changing it because it was a hassle. Since the street right behind the hotel is lined with bars, it gradually became quiet around 4 AM. They provided earplugs, which helped, but I could still hear the music. I paid full price for the sauna, not knowing if there was a discount, but putting the price aside, the facilities weren't very good. I saw later that hotel guests get a 5,000 won discount. There were many foreigners there, and I briefly wondered if they only knew the level of sauna facilities in Korea as being this good when there are so many better places. There was a foreign currency exchange kiosk on the first floor, which was convenient as I could declare my tax-free goods in advance. Free parking was available.
