Gay bars and clubs in Marseille (checked October 2026)
Marseille's gay nightlife is small and split in two. Up the hill in the 6th, Cours Julien has the LGBTQIA+ bar and the queer club crowd. Down in the 1st, near the top of the Canebière, are the older gay bar, the saunas and the leather club. It's a 15-minute walk between the two. This list follows the Marseille tourist office's LGBTQIA+ guide (updated October 2026), Travel Gay and recent reviews. We only list places we could confirm are open.
Cours Julien and La Plaine

Le Pulse
Le Pulse at 94 Cours Julien is the square's LGBTQIA+ bar: a terrace, pizzas, and house and techno DJs at the weekend. The tourist office lists Wednesday to Saturday, 17:00 to 02:00. The crowd is gay men, queer women and their friends.
Boum
Boum on rue André Poggioli opened in October 2022 as a queer bar and small club. The programme runs from drag queens and drag kings to cabaret, Karaboum karaoke nights, talks and DJ sets. Club nights cost around €5. Check boummarseille.fr for the week.

Aux 3G
Aux 3G at 3 rue Saint-Pierre is a volunteer-run lesbian and feminist bar, listed for Friday and Saturday evenings. It isn't on Google and its listings are a few years old, so check its social media first.
Canebière, Réformés and the Vieux-Port
L'Annexe
L'Annexe Bar made in Marseille at 7 rue Saint-Bazile, opposite Réformés-Canebière metro, is the most clearly gay bar in the city, with a kitsch decor, a terrace and dancing later in the night. It opens Wednesday to Sunday, 19:00 to 02:00.
Le 5.5
Le 5.5 at 15 rue Rouget de Lisle is a late karaoke bar with an LGBT+ night every Wednesday, open Tuesday to Saturday from 23:00 to 05:00. The crowd on other nights is mixed.
Polikarpov
Polikarpov is a vodka bar with a big terrace on Cours d'Estienne d'Orves, just south of the port. It's gay-friendly rather than gay, and the tourist office includes it on its LGBTQIA+-friendly list.
Cruise bars and the leather club
Le Trash Bar (28 rue du Berceau, 5th) is the city's gay cruise bar, with a darkroom and a naked party on the first Sunday of the month. Le Mineshaft (28 rue Mazagran) is the men-only leather club of FSMC Marseille, open Friday and Saturday from 23:00 with a dress code.
Roving parties
Much of the queer club scene is run by collectives. La Dégaine throws gay pop parties on rooftops and at Mama Shelter, and La Fièvre runs parties for lesbian and queer women. Follow them on Instagram, and see our Marseille events page for dated listings.
Closed
The New Cancan club on rue Sénac de Meilhan closed in 2024. Play Bar on rue Breteuil and L'Endroit have also closed, and Le Cargo sauna is shut for good. Le Trolleybus on the Vieux-Port is a mainstream club, not a gay one.
Practical tips
Thursday to Saturday are the busy nights, and most bars close at 02:00. Metro line 2 serves Notre-Dame-du-Mont (Cours Julien) and Réformés-Canébière. Keep your phone out of sight on the street late at night, and use a ride app home.
