Switchboard (AIDS-Hilfe Frankfurt)

Switchboard is the community café, bar and cultural space of AIDS-Hilfe Frankfurt, on Alte Gasse in the small gay quarter between the Zeil and Konstablerwache. Volunteers have run it since 1988. It works as a low-key place to meet, a venue for talks and events, and an information point for HIV, sexual health and LGBTQ+ support services. It opens in the evenings, and the gay bars of Alte Gasse and Schäfergasse are on the doorstep. It's a good first stop if you want to meet the local community and not only the club scene.
