This is an outdoor cruising area in the Saaleaue meadows near the Pferderennbahn (racecourse), west of central Halle. The gravel-pit lake and the car park area are listed as a gay and bisexual meeting point, used mostly in warmer months and in the evening around the parking area. It's a public nature area also used by walkers, swimmers and anglers, so be discreet and keep it out of sight of other users. Public sex is still an offence in Germany even though the country's LGBTQ+ laws are progressive. Go with a charged phone and don't leave valuables in the car.

There are often many great events here, especially horse races. The horse races are really fun, and the racetrack has a lovely and pleasant atmosphere. Sometimes there are also small concerts. These are very intimate and a lot of fun!

Nice racetrack, parking can be a bit tricky if you're coming from out of town. Plenty of food and drinks are available. Recommended for a pleasant afternoon of racing.
