Novotel Münster City

Nice rooms, friendly staff, good accessibility by train and car, but due to its central location it is relatively noisy at night on the street side.

Modern and beautiful hotel in Münster 👍 The city center is within walking distance, there's a parking garage right next door, and the entire hotel is very modern and clean. The room was surprisingly spacious for a standard hotel room, the windows open, the bathroom has a regular door, and there's a mini-fridge. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend it! 🍀👍

Top service and prime location

The rooms are actually very good. But then came the scandal! We had ordered breakfast for our guests. The server then yelled at one of our guests because she supposedly hadn't paid. Simply embarrassing! But of course, we had already paid for our guests, as was clearly shown in the system. Despite this, the server remained unfriendly and only admitted her mistake at the very end.

I'm often in Münster for work. My days and evenings are tightly scheduled, so I need to be able to rely on everything running smoothly at the hotel. And that's the expectation I have for a four-star hotel. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case during my first stay at the Novotel Münster. The rooms are supposed to be cleaned every two days. My room wasn't cleaned at all during the entire week. And while it's a nice gesture, a complimentary drink doesn't really help in that situation. It's a shame, because the location near the train station is good. The rooms are well-equipped, and the service in the restaurant is excellent.

Super breakfast

Katharina gave us the best service during breakfast. Also thank you for the tips to go out. Super friendly and excepcional coffee. Also the guys at the bar very friendly! And all the breakfast staff was very nice too! Thank you for treating us so nice!

The hotel initially makes a very good impression, both from the outside and inside. However, upon closer inspection, there are unfortunately many things that are unsatisfactory. We were particularly disappointed with the cleanliness. The mattress had no topper, only a very thin sheet, which we found unhygienic. Furthermore, the shower gel was completely empty. The glasses in the room were also in a state that made drinking from them unappealing.

So, I waited 40 minutes in the middle of the night. No service at reception. No way to check in. Guests are waiting in the middle of the night. Staff come and say they'll bring water as an apology for the wait, but then it doesn't arrive. I'm sent to the wrong elevator, and then they just say, "Oh yeah, that's wrong." Great. The Wi-Fi is terrible. The TV won't connect. The staff says the manager will be here tomorrow and that I can complain to him, and they refuse any further requests, clearly aiming for minimal effort. Definitely next time I'll stay at the Atlantic; their service is just better.

The hotel itself is modern and clean, but unfortunately the overall customer experience felt far too revenue-driven rather than guest-oriented. Several aspects left a negative impression: Parking costs were extremely high (EUR xx/day), despite hotel parking being advertised as an available facility. In Münster, average parking prices are significantly lower. The nightly room pricing structure was also confusing and inconsistent, with different nightly rates applied in a way that did not feel transparent at booking stage. Even though I checked out one day earlier than originally planned, the remaining night was still fully charged without any flexibility or customer-oriented approach. Business travel plans can change unexpectedly, meetings may end earlier, or schedules may shift. I understand cancellation policies exist, but the overall handling again felt extremely rigid and commercially focused. Overall, the experience felt more focused on maximizing additional charges than on hospitality and customer satisfaction. For a business hotel operating under an international brand, I expected a more customer-friendly, transparent, and service-oriented approach.
