Stuttgart's Gay Bars and Clubs
Stuttgart's gay scene is compact, but it's got a lot of heart — a tight cluster of bars in the old town, rather than a sprawling mess. You'll find traditional pubs, café-bars, a lively leather scene, and a couple of clubs, all within stumbling distance of each other.
The old town's where it's at, with most bars concentrated in the Bohnenviertel and Leonhardsviertel quarters. It's a short walk between venues, making a bar crawl a breeze.
Where to Find the Scene: Neighbourhoods
There's no single "gay village" in Stuttgart, but the bars are mostly found in the historic old-town quarters just southeast of Marktplatz. Leonhardstrasse and Pfarrstrasse are the streets to know, with narrow lanes and atmospheric vibes. A few places are a bit further out, like CLUB 2B on Marienstrasse in Stuttgart-Süd and the EAGLE on Mozartstrasse.

Featured Venues
Tom's Bar and Bernstein
Tom's Bar on Pfarrstrasse draws a later crowd, while neighbouring Bernstein is a chill spot for a drink and a chat. They're the anchors of the old-town cluster. Goldener Heinrich, a century-old gay Kneipe on Leonhardstrasse, closed its doors in 2025.

Café Monroe's and Ruben's
Café Monroe's near the Rathaus is a friendly spot that shifts from coffee to drinks as the day goes on. Ruben's is a relaxed bar-bistro-lounge — both are great for meeting people, not so much for dancing.
Schräglage
Schräglage on Hirschstrasse is a long-running late-night gay bar on one of the centre's busiest corners. It's a good first stop before heading into the old town.

EAGLE, K29 and CLUB 2B
For something harder-edged, Stuttgart's got a well-established leather and fetish scene: the EAGLE, K29, and CLUB 2B, plus the western-flavoured reBOOTS. The queer-welcoming techno club Romantica also hosts dedicated gay nights.
Best Nights and What to Expect
Thursday to Saturday are the liveliest nights, with Fridays and Saturdays being the busiest. It's quiet and conversational at the old-town pubs, but livelier at the clubs and fetish venues. Many places host special evenings, so check their social media before you go.
Don't expect to find any €5 cocktails, but you will find a welcoming vibe.
Practical Tips
Getting there: The U-Bahn and S-Bahn are efficient and reach the centre easily. Most old-town venues are a short walk from Rathaus or Charlottenplatz. Ages: the drinking age is 18, so carry ID. Safety: Stuttgart's a safe city, and its venues are welcoming — just take the usual care walking between bars late at night. You'll find the old town's narrow lanes are well-lit, but it's still a good idea to stick with a group if you're out late.
