Settepolpette is a cheap, busy restaurant on Piazza della Raibetta, just behind Genoa's Porto Antico in the old town. As the name suggests, meatballs are the core of the menu, in meat and vegetarian versions, alongside Ligurian dishes such as pasta with pesto and vegetable lasagne. It is a mainstream gay-friendly place, not a gay venue. With close to 1,500 Google reviews at 4.7, queues are common at peak meal times. It's a practical lunch stop if you're visiting the aquarium or walking the caruggi.

Nothing special. We ate egg tagliotini with pesto, veg. Lasagne, and the mix see plate. It was nothing special and relatively high priced

Excellent restaurant, very warm welcome and excellent service. The polpette are delicious (both the meat and vegetarian options), as are the desserts. A nice bonus: they offer menus and explanations in French. We will definitely return if we come back to Genoa.

I go there often, both for work and pleasure, and I'm always satisfied. The food is excellent, the ingredients are authentic, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. A true Genoese restaurant.
