Lovely hotel, beautifully clean, super friendly staff, all at a very reasonable price. And a much prettier and more personable building than the ugly Plaza hotel nearby

Spent the weekend in this charming hotel with friendly, helpful staff and a wide breakfast menu including many vegan options. Excellent location and reasonable prices, would stay here again.

This hotel is amazing. Booking - I booked direct and they were so helpful, from helping me to identify how close to where I was working they were to reserving me a parking space on site. Check in - I was running late beyond the check in guide time I had provided. Ruth called me and explained being later than I said didn't matter as they were manned 24 hours a day but she wanted to check I was ok as she could see I was driving quite a way. That was above and beyond!! The room - Clean, tidy, comfortable, good towels, great shower, and shower gel, shampoo & conditioner supplied in dispensers to prevent unnecessary waste. Breakfast - Fantastic. Fresh cooked not buffet. Great coffee, an amazing selection of tea and juice. Friendly helpful staff, no rush, no fuss, just good old fashion service. The bar - Well stocked, real glass, a good selection of mixers and again, brilliant staff. I do have to come back again for work. I will be staying here or their sister hotel The Drake. The staff, the owner, and the location are all equally great. It's a shame google don't have a secret 6th star!

This is a fabulous hotel. There's a beautifully furnished lounge/bar for guests with stunning chandeliers throughout. The room was clean and had a very comfortable bed. Then there was Donna. Donna greeted us on arrival and was so friendly and helpful. When we returned to the hotel after dinner she served us drinks in the bar and really made us feel at home. She's a true asset to the hotel, and a shining example of how great hospitality can be. I would recommend anyone to stay here, the location is ideal, the rooms lovely and the staff were outstanding.

The service was perfect. Everybody was helpful and very polite and friendly. The family room had bunk beds for the kids, an uneven floor and for my taste an unattractive bathroom, yet fine wood furniture, visible silk, marble and gold, with blemishes here and there and some wooden boards screwed to the wall, maybe in order to cover holes? The whole hotel is full of contrasts and a place where you can feel the history it has. With its ups and downs, I presume, but always aiming high. If you are an author or travel blogger seeking inspiration, this is the place to stay! We enjoyed our stay for one night particularly because of the warm welcome and perfect service.
