Retrô Lapa is a small dance bar on Rua do Rezende, next door to The Pride of Lapa. It is the home of Bailão Carioca, a Saturday party for mature men and bears, and it also hosts the Ursada and Beefy bear parties, both listed on Tá Sendo and Sympla in 2026. It is a bar with a dance floor rather than a big club, and outside the party nights it can be quiet. Google shows only a handful of reviews. Check @bailaocarioca for dates.

I liked the place. I went on a Friday night and it was quite crowded. The crowd is mostly 40+ and I thought it was cool to see older people having fun. The music reflects the audience, which is wonderful for those who enjoy 80s/90s music. The space is large (it wasn't fully open when I went) and the prices are reasonable. Good place to go dancing. I'll be back more often when I'm in Rio.

They are disrespectful to the residents of Rua do Resende. There are several residential buildings nearby, and it's now 1:27 AM on a Monday morning, and the noise is extremely loud, preventing workers from sleeping.
