Santa Teresa Hotel RJ – MGallery

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. We were there for 3 nights, enjoying the hotel and the town/neighborhood. Sofia from the front desk was very welcoming and supportive throughout our stay. Bed and room were comfortable and the AC worked super well. Damiao did a great job with the housekeeper duties including turn down service. Thomas from breakfast was always kind and happy to be of assistance. Breakfast was delicious. Pool and jacuzzi were gorgeous. We also attended a private birthday party in the event space and wow, the service, food, and drinks were incredible.

We got a "double upgrade " without asking for it. We were pretty happy about it until we arrived to the room (room n° 11). It was ADA accesible room and the closest one to the front. We heard everything happening there, and from the outside of the building, the loud noise of an AC unit compressor. I woke up at 6 am on a Sunday with the noise coming from the front desk. My partner used sleep earbuds. Additionally, the bathroom door didn't fully close on both ends, leaving a gap of about an inch on each side!. Pretty disappointing for a USD $600+ per night hotel. The property is nice, but not worth the price in our experience. On the positive side, the breakfast and bed were pretty good. Still, with that budget, I would've preferred to stay elsewhere.

If I could, I would give it more stars. It's true that the hotel's structure is rustic and could never be modern, since the building is an old farmhouse listed as a historical landmark, but we felt very comfortable and at home; the room was delightful. However, what truly makes the hotel deserve every star is the service from the entire team; this is what truly stood out for us and was among our best lodging experiences (and we've had quite a few, haha). The Térèze restaurant is fabulous, with dishes created by an incredible chef and exceptional service. Here I would like to give a special thanks to Thiago, a young man who looks a lot like Neymar, who was brilliant throughout our evening from beginning to end. Champion, thank you so much for your kindness and attention to us, you are incredible! I also couldn't fail to mention other names with whom we had direct contact, from reception, the pool bar, the walking tour, and hotel checkout. Our deepest gratitude goes to Sofia, a truly lovely person, Thales, Bruno, Ana Alice, Jorge, Cícero, Fabíola, Cecília, with her rich and excellent walking tour, and of course, Ana, the super friendly and highly capable supervisor responsible for the entire team… to you all, my deepest gratitude for the unforgettable moments you provided us. I highly recommend the Hotel Santa Tereza MGallery; it was wonderful!
