Hotel Frontera Plaza

It's fallen into disrepair. As a child, I remember staying there on trips to Bariloche. The steak with fried eggs and onions was amazing. Today, part of it is completely closed off, and the open section is a strange mix with a café—typical of southern Chile these days—made of wood and selling modern items like New York cookies. The staff tried their best to serve me, but it wasn't enough. They need someone who knows about hospitality. The rooms are functional, and its biggest advantage is its location next to the main square, making it an unbeatable spot for business travelers. I recommend a classic local restaurant on the opposite corner, where you'll find excellent meats and cakes, along with wonderful southern-style service.

Everything was fine. They were super friendly.

Good location, rooms with optimal heating for winter, and the breakfast service is very good because it's from the attached café. However, they don't offer room service, nor do they have hot water, and the café closes at 5 pm, so staying here on holidays is boring and uncomfortable. They also offer a smoking area, but it's the exit to the parking lot without even a chair. And the parking lot is a hassle because they take a long time to open for entry or exit. If you book through Falabella Travel, they then charge an additional VAT, which, added to the breakfast price, makes it not very convenient and costs the same as a higher-standard hotel.
