Про це місце Dashwood Manor

Dashwood Manor, a Tudor‑style inn at 1 Cook Street in Victoria, British Columbia, offers eleven sea‑facing rooms and a gay‑friendly vibe. The inn sits where Cook Street meets the waterfront on Dallas Road, so every room looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca and, on clear days, the Olympic Mountains. It's mainstream and gay-friendly, but not a gay hotel. The rooms are modest but the sea view is a highlight. A short walk from the front is Beacon Hill Park, and the shoreline path runs right past the building. The Inner Harbour and downtown are about a 20‑minute walk or a short drive away. With only eleven rooms, the place fills up fast in summer, so book early if you want a specific one.

We stayed in the Oxford Room for a weekend getaway. The place is super charming and the location is great. Unfortunately, there were several issues that impacted our stay. The jacuzzi was not working, and upon arrival I stepped on a sticky rodent trap that had been left out in the room. The space is charming and quirky, but we felt that the cleanliness and overall upkeep did not reflect the $$$. For the cost, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and attention to detail. It was fun for a weekend staycation, but we wouldn’t return.

The Dashwood met expectations overall. The view from the third-floor Dorset room was sigh-inducing. The deck provided ample space for morning coffee and evening wine. The bed and pillows were SO COMFY that I slept like a rock for 3 nights. The quirky heritage nature of this building made the stay more interesting than any boring hotel. Is it upgraded or updated, without stains or old fixtures? No, but that's part of the charm. The location was ideal with walking paths along the ocean and a beach across the road (and down the hill). Breakfast was plentiful (although eggs weren't done as ordered and potatoes were super-greasy), but the all-day hospitality snacks and drinks were a delightful touch (mmmm, the snickerdoodles!). Access was easy and communication was timely.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Location is 10/10 to be able to walk to the coffee/food spots on Cook st, across to the walking trail on the beautiful coast, and to walk into Beacon Hill Park. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We stayed in the Cambridge and the Fairfield. Cambridge is larger and has an amazing view and a nice large jacuzzi tub. The shower/bathroom was very small and there was a small closet but no dresser for clothes storage. Fairfield is a smaller room but does have a larger bathroom/shower and has more storage. These are not complaints, both rooms are beautiful, hopefully someone finds the info helpful.

A fabulous B&B. Spacious rooms with fabulous views of the shore. A 30 minute walk from downtown Victoria and just a few minutes from the Cook Village which has everything you could need for a stay in southern Victoria.

An absolutely perfect stay. Everyone was so kind, it’s in a BEAUTIFUL location with a great little trail right outside so I had a beautiful place to run in the mornings. We had an early morning in which we couldn’t join for breakfast one day and the staff was so kind to prepare a yogurt parfait for us and store it in the fridge so we could easily take it with us. It was a wonderful stay and I miss it already! It’s a historic building so with that definitely comes an older charm, but it was perfect for our stay.

It was a lovely B&B, clean and easy to navigate. Oniste parking was great, and proximity to the waterfront was excellent. Breakfast was good, just would have liked to have a protein option such as eggs or Greek yogurt. Exterior landscape could use some attention, but overall the stay for one night was good.
