Our Spot KC

Good afternoon, it's really hard that people. That they attend. The goal treats you badly, they humiliate you. No matter that you are from the LGTBQ+ community I am an emigrant I went to ask for help since I had no place to live and the person treated me badly humiliated me but. Well, really improve people's attention

4-22-2026: This place is rather huge and has a lot of resources for the LGBTQ+ community, including the homeless community. I came in for a meeting with the KC PrideFest 2026 Parade Committee and was totally amazed. I'm definitely gonna be coming back in during regular business hours in order to get the whole entire experience and find out exactly everything they've got to offer

This place offers help and especially the LBGTQ community

We got adopted for Christmas and we got lots of nice stuff

To be very honest, some of the staff members yes were nice. Three in particular were not. However, in my experience with certain issues that arose; they never seem to have time for just about anything unless it is a positive thing for them. Most often, the experience was all sorts of dismissive, numerous hang ups via phone, awkward feelings of animosity towards older gay men especially, cold and often times careless. Needless to say, but if you are part of the LGBTQIA community and you're male, you're better off seeking help somewhere else. Their level of disrespect and dismissiveness led me to part ways with their entire organization. Don't fall for their scheme. They only care for whom they choose to cherrypick and "get along" with. Please take my advice before you fall for the same trap too.

It's a great place to go if you or someone you love is LGBTQ+

I have seen what happens when people are given real chances to lead. Our Spot KC makes that possible every day. I’ve watched youth in their programs grow into confident adults who are ready to take on the world. I’ve seen staff members who show up with love and turn that love into life-changing opportunities for participants. These are leaders of color, queer folks, and trans folks who are shaping Kansas City in ways that matter. Our Spot KC doesn’t just talk about community — they build it. They make space for grassroots organizations like TWOCC to grow and thrive alongside them. They share resources, invite collaboration, and remind us that leadership belongs to all of us. Being in that space reminds me that our community already has what it needs — we just need to keep pouring into each other to see it bloom. - Nyla Foster, MSM
