FairyTail Lounge is a small dedicated gay bar at 500 West 48th Street, on the corner of 10th Avenue at the north end of Hell's Kitchen. It is more of a neighbourhood lounge than a club, and drag and themed nights are part of the programme. It draws a mixed local crowd, along with people coming from the Broadway theatres a few blocks east. It opens at 19:00 and closes at 03:00 or 04:00. Its Google rating is a modest 3.4 from fewer than 70 reviews, so check the website for current shows before making a special trip. The main Hell's Kitchen strip on 9th Avenue is a short walk away if you want to bar-hop.
