GLBT Historical Society Museum

I hope they find a way to make this museum bigger. I was hoping for something more substantial. The stuff they have there is powerful and very educational. I would love them to expand on the Harvey Milk and AIDS exhibits. I'd love to see more stuff on the post war period as well.

I visited this small but important museum on a quiet weekday. Located in the historical Castro district, it houses the original rainbow flag! Standing in front of that piece of history was just magical. 🏳️‍🌈 Staff were also very welcoming. 5 out of 5 stars.

Small exhibit, but fairly well done.

The museum is quite small but tells the whole story of gay life in San Francisco, as well as the persecutions that occurred there. It also has the original rainbow flag of the gay rights movement. This museum is historically significant and should be visited.

I visited. I saw. I cried. A perfect way to honor LGBTQ+ History Month. I only wish there was a larger space with more displays! Maybe one day.

It's inconspicuous, small, and has short opening hours. I could only see it from the outside because it was past closing time, but it didn't seem very easy to enter. It was so inconspicuous that I had trouble finding it.
