📸 Suggest PhotosOR2K is one of Thamel's most enduring international bars — a multi-level venue with a courtyard and a relaxed floor-cushion seating culture borrowed from the Middle East (the name references the restaurant chain of the same name in Tel Aviv and Amsterdam). The atmosphere is bohemian and thoroughly international: the crowd on any given evening includes trekkers who just arrived from Everett Base Camp, long-term Kathmandu expats, Nepali young professionals, and international volunteers working with development organisations across the city. The bar has maintained a consistently LGBTQ+-friendly reputation across many years of operation — same-sex couples are entirely unremarkable here, and the bar's regular clientele includes members of Kathmandu's LGBTQ+ community. Cocktails are decent; the mocktail and juice menu is extensive for trekkers observing altitude-adjustment guidelines. The courtyard is one of Thamel's more atmospheric outdoor drinking spaces. Open daily with food service into the late evening.
