📸 Suggest PhotosThe View Rooftop Bar sits above the rooftops of District 3 with panoramic sight lines toward the District 1 skyscrapers and the wider sprawl of Ho Chi Minh City spreading in every direction. It is one of those venues that works equally well as a pre-dinner drinks stop, a place to spend a long evening watching the city change color through sunset and into the neon-lit night, and a late-night destination for those who want their cocktails with a view rather than a dance floor. District 3 is one of HCMC's most interesting neighborhoods for the LGBTQ+ community ? less tourist-facing than District 1, more residential and local in character, with a concentration of cafes, restaurants, and bars that draw the city's creative and professional community. The LGBTQ+ presence in District 3 is less concentrated than in the Bui Vien zone but more integrated into the general social fabric of the neighborhood, and venues here tend toward the reliably welcoming rather than the specifically designated. The View has built a reputation in HCMC's LGBTQ+ community over the years through the cumulative effect of a management that doesn't make any group of guests feel unwelcome, a staff trained to treat all customers with professional warmth, and the simple advantage of having the best view in the neighborhood. Same-sex couples taking a table for sunset drinks are treated with complete normalcy, and the crowd on any evening is diverse enough that visibility is simply part of the scene. The cocktail menu is well-constructed and Vietnamese-influenced in its more creative sections: the lemongrass gin and the tamarind Negroni are genuine highlights rather than tokenistic local flourishes. The beer selection covers Vietnamese options as well as international. The food menu is adequate for bar snacks and light dining. Reservations for sunset-hour seating are recommended, particularly on weekends.
