About this place Park Hyatt Saigon

The Park Hyatt Saigon occupies the most elegant address in Ho Chi Minh City: Lam Son Square, facing the Municipal Theatre (the French colonial Opera House), with the historic Hotel Caravelle and the Sheraton flanking it and the city's premier shopping and restaurant street running away toward the river. The hotel's neoclassical facade, designed to harmonize with the surrounding colonial architecture rather than compete with it, is one of the more considered pieces of hotel architecture in Southeast Asia, and the interiors match ? marble floors, Vietnamese lacquerwork, and the kind of considered luxury that understands the difference between display and comfort. For LGBTQ+ travelers, the Park Hyatt Saigon offers the most straightforward accommodation choice in Ho Chi Minh City. Park Hyatt's global standards include genuine inclusive hospitality training, and the staff at this property have served an international clientele that includes LGBTQ+ guests as a matter of course for long enough that there is no awkwardness or adjustment required. A same-sex couple checking in will receive the same gracious, professional service as any other guests. The location is outstanding for those planning to explore the District 1 gay scene. Lush is a short walk through the streets between the Opera House and Ly Tu Trong; Bui Vien is a fifteen-minute walk or five-minute taxi; Apocalypse Now is between the two. The hotel's own Square One restaurant is one of the best in the city, with an open kitchen and a seasonal Vietnamese-international menu that draws locals as well as hotel guests. The bar, with its Lam Son Square terrace, is a superb position for early evening drinks. The pool, landscaped on the upper floors of the main building, is a genuine sanctuary ? an extraordinary amenity in a city where outdoor space is at a premium. The spa provides a full menu of treatments. The concierge team is well-informed about current LGBTQ+ events and venues and will make recommendations without hesitation.

I had a deeply disappointing and appalling experience during afternoon tea at Park Lounge, Park Hyatt Saigon today. As guests who expect the high standards of the Park Hyatt brand, the service was unacceptable across all levels: 1 Lack of Basic Courtesy: Upon arrival, the doorman completely ignored us and failed to even open the front door—a fundamental standard for any 5-star luxury property. 2: Rude Communication & Double Standard: While I respect the hotel's photography policy, the staff’s communication was exceptionally hostile, condescending, and aggressive. To make matters worse, while we were waiting inside for our ride-share car, staff aggressively pressed us to leave immediately while completely ignoring local Vietnamese guests in the same lounge. This selective enforcement felt deeply unwelcoming and discriminatory.3: Dismissive Management (Assistant Manager Kiều): When we raised these issues with Assistant Manager Kiều, she demonstrated zero empathy and handled the situation defensivly. Crucially, she explicitly refused to escalate our concerns to senior management or the General Manager. I have officially logged a formal complaint with Hyatt Global Guest Relations and am awaiting a response from the General Manager.
