Lazy Lizard Motor Inn

Wonderful stay, comfortable, clean and convenient. Lovely rooms/suites with porch and sliding glass doors. Front desk staff (owner?) helpful and accommodating. Beautiful birdlife seen from the property. Vastly exceeded my expectations for a “motor inn”. Would love to stay here longer/again.

Great room with basic kitchen utilities and a very nice bathroom. For the price you can't really beat this in terms of quality and convenience. Aidan is extremely helpful in everything relating to the accommodation and stay itself, but even more so when it comes to recommendations for the area. What to do, when is the best time to do it, offering bookings for tours and discount codes, and lending out literature and utilities. If you are visiting the area around Port Douglas and the Daintree rainforest this seems like a no brainer as a solid base. Even the small heated pool is a nice addition for a dip or a few laps after the sun is down.

I've stayed at the Lazy Lizard multiple times and there is a reason I keep coming back, and that is its just perfect! The location is great - easy walking distance to the beach / marina and town. The rooms have everything you could possibly need for a self contained getaway. They are also incredible spacious! The pool is HEATED if you're a wuss like me! Alex and Aiden are the most loveliest hosts you could ever ask for. Whether you are staying for a quick night away or an extended holiday I would highly recommend the Lazy Lizard!

Very friendly check-in. Rooms are spacious with large bathroom and great kitchenette. Nice quiet rooms and great location. Would highly recommend.

Hidden little gem! The rooms are very spacious and well equipped with everything needed for a stay (including a full kitchenette and laundry room). There is a room pool we didn’t get the chance to use but it looked so fun! Parking included in the shade and good WiFi are always welcome. Would only recommend they scrap the tiny bottles of shampoo and replace with refillable ones for shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/lotion/soap.

I stay at the Lazy Lizard everytime I come to Port Douglas . I usually stay 2-3 weeks at a time. As it's on a sevice road and not the main street it's very quiet. The rooms and the resort in general are all well kept, clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. As I usually have a boat in tow the parking out front is never an issue. Highly recommended staying here

Perfect! Clean and presentable for a quick overnight stay to let us get to the reef boats at dawn the next day. Nothing missing, everything needed was close at hand. Shops are a good distance away, but the backpackers in the complex a few doors down can walk it, so you can too :) Nice pool for a cool swim too! Two chairs and a small table outside the door to catch the breeze and enjoy the serenity.

For a Motel in Port Douglas this place was so lovely to stay. Old school tropical charm. The pool was absolutely beautiful and so refreshing and clean. Rooms were clean and tidy. Car park, laundry and pool all nice and close. Only a few minutes drive from the town. We had a lovely stay here at the Lazy Lizard. We will most definitely be back🦎
