The Laird

I was visiting friends in Melbourne and they suggested this bar for a drink on a Friday night. The bar was full of locals, which was perfect and exactly what I was looking for. It was karaoke night, and it was fun to see how much fun everyone was having. It also has an outdoor patio where you can relax, chat, or smoke. Unfortunately, I wanted to go back on Saturday at midnight, but it was already closed.

If you're a gay man like myself, The Laird is a place I'd recommend visiting (to the bar) and even consider taking up accommodation at (the hotel). Getting here is easy as - Collingwood station isn't far off from any of the CBD train stations in the loop. Afterwards, it is a 5-minutes walk away across the street. Checking in to The Laird is seamless - assisted by the wonderful team over at the venue - and you'll be in your assigned room in no more than 10 minutes. I booked one of the Ensuite rooms over the course of 5 days, and there wasn't any qualms I had with the space, facilities or the service during my stay. Special shoutouts to legends Dylan & Damien for making me feel at home! The Laird has a variety of events & activities going on in the evenings (barring most Monday nights) - you'll definitely find something that you enjoy partaking in! I suggest visiting their website to have a look at their event calendar by month. Honestly, can't recommend The Laird enough times as it is. My first visiting experience in Melbourne has been blessed by my decision to take up accommodation here, and the place & men are welcoming & inviting!

Cool club. Unfortunately, the staff was kind of rude. I felt uncomfortable in their presence, afraid to approach and buy a beer. Their behavior was unpleasant. Bad energie. They reacted with passive aggression, reluctance. I don't know what it was.

Get enough guys to synchronize and this place will becum the PEARLY gates!.!! 😏😏

been coming here for the last 3 to 4 years now...... I had my reservations thinking I wouldn't feel comfortable in an establishment like this...but wow...the staff and its patrons have made me feel super welcome! Put yourself out there because there could possibly be someone else feeling the same... ;) the laird does so much for community also which has been great to see recognised by health orgs and council :)
