TradeMark Hostel Sydney

This was my 2nd time staying at this hostel and the vibes were great again. This is just great as literally right next to Kings X station, legit 1min walk. If you are lucky enough to be there on a Friday, make sure to drop by for some free dinner (hope they keep that). I loved their new fancy bed pods btw, somewhat more private :). Imo, hostels are supposed to be good vibes, and I got that from this one. I used their karaoke on the big screen, played at their pool table and vibed heaps.

Manager Angus is a very nice person at this hostel. He is understanding, kind, and intelligent, and he knows how to provide excellent customer service and resolve any issue effectively.

Scammed us out of £240. Genuinely malicious people who know what they are doing. The state of the place was vile, so they agreed to a refund. Unfortunately for us, after 24 hours of travelling and desperation to find a bed, we believed them and headed to another hotel. They then went on to lie on phone calls, ignore emails and kept delaying promises until we were no longer in Sydney. Warning for future people unfortunate enough to deal with these people - record everything. I am actually shocked at their ability to consistently lie to someones face. All of the staff appear to be in on it. We found a similar priced hotel a 5 minute walk down the street which was far better in quality and service. This place is not worth any consideration at all.

Horrible, actually terrible customer service. No one picks up a phone, it’s impossible to reach anyone at the reception at anytime of day. Due to a flight cancellation, I didn‘t make it in time for check in hours and tried to check in the next day. After trying to call about 100 times and writing several emails my booking was cancelled by the hostel and I wasn‘t refunded the deposit I payed in advance. Please please do yourself a favor and don‘t stay here. You will thank me later!

The staff ruin the experience at this hostel. They play club music at full volume when the guests of the hostel are trying to relax in the common area and when I kindly asked them to turn it down they started yelling at me saying that they would never turn it down and that I should just sit back down and listen to the ear wrenching music. Crazy behaviour from a hospitality worker. They also hijacked the TV from the guests to watch TV during their own working hours. Terrible service and unacceptable behavior towards the guests.

Terrible service, we had to wait forever at the counter. Kenneth wasn't there.

A hostel that claims to be modern, clean, and welcoming. Just outside the metro station, you'll find this hostel underground, filled with damp and nauseating smells. The staff, who are all residents of the hostel, do the bare minimum, both in terms of hospitality and maintenance. The upkeep of the rooms, bathrooms, and kitchen is beyond poor. Mold decorates the showers, the kitchen (far too small for the number of residents) is infested with gnats, not to mention the size of the rooms, which are more like cells than dormitories.

This hostel is very run-down, practically a construction site. Breakfast is hardly breakfast. The windows in the room don't open. The bathroom was damp and smelled musty. Every evening we had to share the room with at least two huge cockroaches. Management doesn't respond to feedback or complaints.

If I have one piece of advice, it's to avoid this place! I've traveled to several countries, and this hostel is the worst I've ever seen. - The dorm rooms are more like prison cells than comfortable bedrooms. - The cleaning is limited to a quick vacuum. The bathrooms smell awful and are filthy due to lack of cleaning. So filthy, in fact, that my wife had a severe allergic reaction while staying here, which landed her in the emergency room. The kitchen is dirty and poorly maintained, the rooms are overcrowded for their size, there's no storage space, and there's a strong odor throughout the entire place… There's so much to say about this place; I really don't recommend it. Perhaps the owner should take a good look at themselves and make an effort to improve their establishment! To get positive reviews, you need to offer decent service, and this place is far from it.

Terrible hostel! The lobby and common area close at midnight, the rooftop closes at 8 PM, and the kitchen closes at 11 PM. If you want a place to sit at night, there’s none—they send you straight to your room. The bathrooms were dirty, and while I was there, someone came in and stole suitcases. Luckily, mine was spared. Breakfast supposedly lasts until 10 AM, but if you wake up at 8:30, there’s nothing left, and they don’t replenish it. Very bad experience! Look for another place!
