Wise Owl Hostels Shibuya

I used it solely for sleeping, arriving late at night and departing early in the morning. From what I could see, the majority of passengers were foreigners.

Very clean. If you stay in a shared room, it's quite private because you can close them with curtains, or if you're lucky, you might get a family room. Excellent for travelers who just need a place to sleep.

A little out of the way but a really nice place.

A 15min walk away from shibuya station or 5min from the nextbus station. Dorm room perfect, showers & toilets clean. Kitchen space is lacking, a microwave, kettle and fridge/freezer are provided but minimum cuttlery and plates and no stove.

The location was a bit far, but it was convenient for walking. It was also nice that English was widely spoken. It was great that they provided one towel for free. The bedding was clean, and I liked that there were plenty of shower rooms available. One unique thing was that many Westerners were using the place. As a result, the overall atmosphere was very relaxed.

Enjoyed my stay here. Thank you to the staff for everything! Will come again whenever I visit Tokyo.

Perfect hostel if you want to stay near Shibuya. Despite the large dorms, it was very quiet. Rooms and facilities are clean.

Wise Owl Shibuya is very conveniently placed. I can bounce out of there to my needed stations with haste. The crew is superb and very welcoming. They have always made me feel at home and like I was more than just a guest. Each member of the team brings something different to the table with enthusiasm and kindness. When I return to Tokyo I make an effort to stay here purely because I enjoy the crew so much. The price is always of great value.

10-minute walk from Ikejiri Ohashi Station. Check-in starts at 4:00 PM, with an additional 1,000 yen for early check-in. The lounge on the first floor is nice, and umbrellas are available for free rental. The cabins are open to the second floor, so noise can be heard. There are lockable lockers available for storing valuables. The reception staff are friendly and can assist in English.

The name suggests it's in Shibuya, but it's actually located in Meguro. It's a little over a kilometer from Shibuya Crossing, so it's not too far. Meguro itself is a quiet neighborhood, so it has a quiet atmosphere, and its distance from Shibuya gives it a strong local vibe. Most of the guests are Westerners, making it a better place for socializing than just sleeping in a hostel. The reception staff are also foreigners, many of whom appear to be working holidaymakers, and the Japanese staff are fluent in English, so even if you don't speak Japanese, you won't have any major issues. The facilities are clean. This is my fourth hostel in Japan, and I've never been disappointed with Japanese hostels, so I find it trustworthy. Each floor has one room, effectively sleeping close to 20 people. However, the wooden capsule beds, rather than bunk beds, ensure smooth passageways, quiet beds, and a good level of privacy. The bathroom and shower are right next to the elevator, and there are about three of each, so if you avoid busy times, you'll rarely have to wait. Basic amenities like shampoo, body wash, and a hairdryer are provided, and towels are provided for one person, with additional rentals costing 100 yen. While sharing a space with strangers is a drawback, given the nature of hostels, it wasn't inconvenient for a last-minute hostel stay in Tokyo. I paid about 4,000 yen per night and stayed for three nights.
