Some visitors found the staff to be exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and enjoyed the spa and relaxing atmosphere. However, a significant number of reviewers reported extremely rude and dismissive behavior from front desk staff, with some feeling it was due to their nationality or inability to speak Japanese.

Über diesen Ort 大吉 Daikichi

Daikichi is a men's gay sauna in Doyamacho, the small grid of streets in Kita Ward near Umeda that holds most of Osaka's gay bars. Its website sits under the Jack Box domain, the group behind several Japanese gay saunas. Expect the Japanese format: lockers, baths and steam, with rest and play areas for men only. Google reviews are mixed (3.2 from about 130), so manage expectations on upkeep. Some Japanese gay saunas set entry rules by age, body type or nationality; check the website before you go, carry cash, and follow the house rules on towels and shoes.

First, the front desk staff were rude. It was my first time there, and I didn't know the rules. I went straight to the front desk upon entering, and the staff there were extremely rude because I hadn't taken off my shoes. They were incredibly impatient during the subsequent check-in process, even rolling their eyes at me. The experience was terrible. The second floor has showers and bathtubs, and a few sitting rooms. Perhaps because they were relatively bright, there were only a few people there. The third and fourth floors have very dark rooms, and I saw people having sex in one of them. The blankets seemed very dirty, and there was a lot of used toilet paper. There seemed to be a lot of male staff; I didn't see any attractive women. It wasn't a good experience. The bad experience was mainly due to the front desk service and the dirty bedding on the third and fourth floors. I left after a short while.

The bedding and other amenities have been replaced and are much better. However, please be sure to leave your belongings in a locker and remember to lock it. We also recommend carrying a towel and small items with you when bathing. There are security cameras on the ceiling, but they were ineffective in the event of a theft, so self-protection is crucial.

I've been to this restaurant many times. One staff member was very kind and friendly, and the facilities are good. However, another staff member had a very bad attitude, and there was a clear difference in treatment depending on whether they could speak Japanese or not. When I asked if I could go out for a meal, I was told "you can't," even though it was permitted the previous time. I had a similar experience when I brought a friend here, and it was very unpleasant. The clientele seems to consist mostly of older people and those with a more rugged appearance. There are some good-looking men, but whether you encounter one seems to depend on luck. Also, on my last visit, I saw someone with numerous rashes and symptoms suggestive of syphilis, which made me uneasy. The reason I didn't leave a low rating last time was because of the very kind staff member who treated me so well. Thanks to that person, I refrained from leaving a bad review. However, if this kind of treatment continues repeatedly, I simply cannot accept it. This restaurant is quite large for Osaka. For tourists, it might be worth trying once as an experience. Depending on who you're with, it might even be a positive experience. However, considering the complexity of the clientele and the behavior of some staff members, I personally don't think I'll ever come back. If they don't welcome foreigners, they should clearly state "No foreigners allowed." Even though that's not the case, changing their attitude based on whether or not I could speak the language was extremely unpleasant. If it weren't for that very kind staff member, I wouldn't even want to give it one star. I usually don't bother writing low ratings even when I have a bad experience. This is the first time I've ever truly felt compelled to write a low rating.

I visited in the early afternoon, I was the only foreigner and locals were very shy, not even eye contact. There are two floors with many beddings and others can watch you; many guys were sleeping and waiting for someone to approach them; some of them were having fun in under the bed covers which I found it very rare. It smells with the used beddings/ pillows, private room area is available on the top floor but it was totally empty. Not recommend it if you are non- Asian, you can have much better luck online.
