★★★★☆
After spending a week at Vaya Sölden, we can look back on our stay with great satisfaction.
The hotel is not too large, has rooms with varying views, and a restaurant on the ground floor used for both breakfast and dinner. It is furnished with care and equipped with every convenience. There is an underground parking garage with sufficiently spacious spots under the building, though with a limited number of spaces; other spaces are located around the building.
Please note that Sölden is a busy place, so the noise from the main road is quite noticeable if the window or balcony door is slightly ajar, especially during rush hour. If you want absolute peace and quiet, another, somewhat more secluded location within the Vaya group might be a better choice. The friendly receptionist did her best to move us to a quieter side of the building, but given the high season, this was only possible for a couple of days. We left it at that, and ultimately, the view of the hustle and bustle was quite nice. Incidentally, the (contact) noise between the rooms is virtually absent, which was very pleasant. As in many places in Austria, the church bell rings from 6:00 AM; it takes some getting used to at first, but to be honest, it is part of the charm.
The room was fine, as we have come to expect from Vaya: clean, a lovely bed, a Nespresso machine, a safe in the closet, everything working, nothing damaged, a lovely bathroom, and everything kept spotlessly clean by the friendly housekeeping lady.
The staff were very friendly and helpful in general; Ella, Martin, and their colleagues made our stay very enjoyable. Thanks!
In terms of food, you won't want for anything; an extensive breakfast buffet with something for everyone, actively replenished when necessary.
The dinners included in our half-board booking were delicious. In the morning, you indicate your choice from three dishes, roughly divided into meat, fish, or vegetarian options.
Anything else to mention?
Yes, air conditioning would have been nice given the 30°+ we had that week. We were aware of its absence. A minor detail was the chain for the garage door, which hung too high for the average sports car driver.
