It’s all a pretty basic take on Vietnamese food. You don’t get the exploding depth of flavors in the pho bo and other dishes that you always hope for when you find a new Vietnamese restaurant. It was at best “just alright.” I don’t think they boiled the stock long enough, or maybe didn’t use enough soup bones. I’m not sure but the flavor just wasn’t strong enough, so I was a little disappointed. It’s one of those places that’s totally fine for a quick meal, but you’ll be adding sriracha to the soup to kick it up a notch, whereas if you have a good broth to start you don’t ever have to do that. The cooks are super friendly though. Nice guys. The portions are large and the prices are cheap. So despite a watery broth you don’t feel taken advantage of or anything. All very fair.
Stayed at a nearby hotel, walked in and ordered take away. They controlled the "heat" of the tilapia. It was delicious, hearty portion of rice and side salad. Quick service and reasonable prices. Just a few tables. Would definitely eat there again.
I am from Vienna so I've been to 'Why Not' many many times. Alone or with friends. I have to admit, my first impression wasnt that good because the restaurant is very small and doesnt look elegant or cozy. But I love it. The food ist awesome (tried many things there) , the size of the portions is good and the price is good. Phan, the owner, and his colleague (both are cooking, but only Phan talks good german) are both very friendly and will do their best to make you feel good. Something else I like about the restaurant is the music: Mostly rock/metal stuff playing. Not everyones music but me and my friends love it. I always enjoy going there and would totally recommend the restaurant(: but dont expect elegant and cozy rooms
Small Vietnamese Restaurant. Metallic and heavy rock music inside. Mostly takeaway. But they use MSG/Acinomoto/Mono Sodium Glutamate. Had heart palpation's, warm feet and hands all night long. The food is plentiful and tastes good if you are not overly sensitive to MSG.
