The hotel is good for just a night's stay. We missed our flight. Pros: a really big room, central location... Everything is close by. But there are also homeless people near the station. The room has a bathroom, but the faucets are from the time of Peter the Great. Our room doesn't have a minibar, and therefore no refrigerator.
Nice budget hotel, price was reasonable. The surrounding community is awful and feels incredibly unsafe. Not the fault of the hotel. I'd personally never stay here again.
I had a mixed experience during my recent stay at this hotel. On the positive side, I found the staff to be friendly, and the basic amenities provided, such as the in-room kettle with tea and instant coffee, were appreciated. I also noted that the linen was clean and the bathroom was functional. However, as a solo female traveler, the major drawback of this location is the extremely unsafe environment. The hotel is situated close to the Brussels-North train station, which is known to be a challenging area with a significant presence of drug dealers and individuals who appeared to be junkies. Unfortunately, I did not research the area beforehand, and I would strongly advise other solo female travelers to avoid it. Inside the hotel, the atmosphere felt dodgy, and I experienced several unsettling incidents, including noise disturbances and a lack of sound insulation that made it difficult to sleep. While the staff did promptly address an issue I raised about unauthorized people on the fire escape, the overall sense of insecurity persisted. Given the last-minute nature of my booking, the price I paid was very high compared to the typical fifty euro per night rate, which I feel is a fairer reflection of what the property offers. Based on the safety concerns and environmental issues, I would rate this hotel two out of five stars. It might be suitable for a budget stay if one is fully aware of the area, but the lack of comfort and security makes it difficult to recommend for a standard traveler.
I chose it purely for its location across from the train station. I didn't know, however, that the neighborhood is a mix of very unsavory people. Drug dealing, gangs, and even prostitution in storefronts at all hours of the day, starting in the afternoon. The surrounding streets are dirty, with filth everywhere, and rats! People urinating and doors being broken down are a welcome sight. The hotel is poorly maintained, with old bathrooms and a tub. The beds are comfortable overall, and the air conditioning works but is noisy when turned up high. Really, if you can, consider moving to a different neighborhood. The view from the room window was beautiful.
It's located in a very bad area, right next to the train station. As soon as night falls, the atmosphere is terrible. There are usually police cars parked near the hotel entrance at night. The rooms are spacious, but very old and uninviting. The pillows smell as if they've never been changed or cleaned, even though the pillowcases are freshly put on. During my three-night stay, the bathroom wasn't cleaned or swept. On the first day, I found a dead cockroach in the room. The trains are incredibly loud: they run until very late at night, and the first ones start at 5:00 AM. The breakfast is basic, but it has everything you need.
Terrible hotel, very expensive, very unsafe neighborhood. The windows dont close, the AC doesnt work, the noise from the street is unbearable, there are a huge amount of drifters at night, gang fights. The police is right in front, useless. Cannot sleep at all. Everything is old and neglected. Avoid this city at all cost. The ares is shabby as hell, never go alone. I got harrassed by you know who right after leaving the hotel at 1 in the afternoon. I had to enter another hotel to stop him following me. Probably wanted money, to steal. The city is very sketchy, very dangerous for single ppl. Glad I made it alive home. I mean coming from eastern europe we do have bad neighborhoods but nothing prepares you for the european capital of brusseles. If this is what EU means thanks no
