Hotel Opat

The hotel was in a great location, we could walk everywhere. The rooms were fine, clean, the interior a bit old. However, what spoils the whole impression is the behavior of the staff and the breakfast. The staff, mainly the lady at the reception, was arrogant and had a need to argue. The breakfasts, which were for a fee, were absolutely terrible. We only had one and we cancelled the other. It was the bare minimum that they offered us. I have never had such a bad breakfast anywhere, and in similar hotels (stars, price) it is usually free of charge. What surprised me the most, however, was the offer of drinks. Water, the cheapest and sweetest juice you can buy, and drip coffee (tastes more like mud). However, in addition to the poor offer, for AN ADDITIONAL FEE, normal coffee from the coffee machine. It is true that we were out of season, in February, but I think that breakfast could have been solved in another way in this case.

Located in the heart of the old town, this hotel impresses with its excellent location and private parking directly at reception. The staff spoke clear English and responded to email inquiries very quickly and reliably. The building itself is steeped in history and retains many medieval structural elements, giving it a very special charm. The old, sometimes crooked, staircases emphasize the historical character, while an elevator provides the necessary convenience. Our apartment was very spacious and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. There was a small refrigerator, a kettle, coffee and tea making facilities, glasses, a hairdryer, and toiletries in the bathroom. The rooms were clean and pleasantly quiet. The bed linen was of good quality; we only found the mattresses a bit too soft. The breakfast buffet was also a particular highlight, offering a very good and well-balanced selection for 250 crowns. There are also stylishly designed smoking areas on each floor. The room service was very friendly and accommodating to individual requests. Overall, the hotel offers excellent service, a high level of comfort, and an exceptional ambiance in a historic setting. We can wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Excellent location, close to the church of St. Barbara. Nice staff.

Nice clean accommodation. The hotel is in the historic center and everything is within walking distance (sights, restaurants, cafes, bars, even a pharmacy).

We were very satisfied with the hotel, it met everything we wanted. 🙂
