I was at the Landgasthof Alter Bahnhof in Heuerode today – and to be honest, I was completely surprised. From the outside and inside, it's rather simple, but what comes out of the kitchen here is anything but ordinary. Every dish is freshly prepared, perfectly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, no frills – just real skill on the plate. I'm absolutely blown away by the culinary offerings here. Highly recommended. Here's a relevant Google Maps review: We spent a week at the Landgasthof Alter Bahnhof in Heuerode and were completely satisfied. We rented two holiday homes, the Red and the Green, and felt comfortable from the very beginning. The houses were cozy and well-equipped, so we lacked nothing. The breakfast buffet was varied and delicious. There was something for everyone, and everything was fresh and lovingly presented. A real highlight was the small zoo on the grounds. Especially for the children, this was an unforgettable experience. The free-roaming cats were also a big hit and were given plenty of petting. The location is ideal for excursions and hikes. Many beautiful destinations are easily accessible, including Eisenach, Erfurt, and Mühlhausen. Even unique attractions like the Bratwurst Museum or the geographical center of Germany are within easy reach. For families and anyone seeking peace and quiet while also wanting to explore the region, this country inn comes highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

Overall, a great inn. The service is very friendly. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the rooms. The toilets were modern and clean. The food was rather mediocre, not bad, but not amazing either. It could be improved. The selection of dishes was also very limited. I thought it was great that people with disabilities were employed as staff. A big plus.

We were only there for a meal... But it's a very nice restaurant! The food is good, the people are friendly, and the surroundings are lovely...

My husband and I celebrated our 70th birthdays at the "Alten Bahnhof" (Old Train Station) in Heyerode. Together with our guests, we enjoyed the Sunday lunch buffet in this cozy country inn. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the kitchen staff for the delicious and varied menu, as well as to the friendly waitstaff.
