In brief, the food was average-- arguable worse in a more 'gourmet' perspective. The service was alright, but the wait in between plates was a little too long. The restaurant itself was alright. Wasn't very spacious, but they made do with what they had. More detailed review below: To talk more on the food, we ordered: 1. Ensalada rusa (russian/potato salad) 2. Zamburiñas (scallops) 3. Tartar de atún rojo Balfegó (tuna tartare) 4. Carrilleras de cerdo ibérico con patatas (pork cheek with potatoes) (1) The potato salad was okay; very basic dish-- it's pretty hard to mess up. (2) The scallops were not of outstanding quality (as suggested by the rating), and the texture was not great. (3) The tuna tartare was way too salty (too much soy sauce) and although the layer of avocado helped a little, it was not substantial. Not recommended for people with a more subtle palate or people with hypertension (high blood pressure). (4) The pork cheek was average. One could get something better off the side of the road in East/Southeast Asia. The pork itself was not consistent in the texture. Some parts were very tender while others seemed to be overcooked and tough. The sauce was very oily (maybe this standard in Bilbao). Overall, everything in this dish seemed to be a copy and paste of Asian flavours with the word "IBÉRICO" slapped on it. The only thing they did well with was the bread. (Bare minimum??) The bread was perfectly crispy and slightly warm in the basket. Overall, for the price, I don't think it's worth it. The portion sizes are not unreasonable, but the dishes themselves are unhealthy and overly seasoned (in an attempt of what I believe is "fusion").

Simple food but absolutely delicious. Everything was super fresh. And great value for money upon reflecting on all my other meals in the area.

We've been there before when the dining room was less crowded and it was great. Today, my partner and I ate there even though the place was full with large tables, and the service was just as good, even though we arrived later than the other tables and left earlier. Everything we ordered was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

We went as a family to celebrate Mother's Day and were disappointed! The only decent things were the prawns and croquettes we ordered as starters. The squid in its ink was a tiny portion, but the tripe Basque-style left much to be desired—an oily tomato sauce with a fried egg! We ordered monkfish for two, and to our surprise, they served us only half a monkfish, complete with bones and head—it looked like another customer's leftovers. When we complained to the waiter, he told us that was the portion, end of story! We won't be back!

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, we weren’t told until after we’d ordered a bottle of wine that two of the main courses were sold out, the Solomillo de Txuleta and the pulpo, which is why we initially came to this restaurant. The meals we finally ordered, were ok. It seems that my dish (Huevos rotos) needed to be scrambled before eating, which is what the server did at the neighboring table. Unfortunately, I was not told this and wished that they had done it at our table as well, so the service is a bit inconsistent. For us, it was not the right place for dinner.

We've been three other times and it was great, but this last time it wasn't right. Regarding the food, everything was good: ribeye steak, scallops, croquettes, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, tripe, etc. But they served us some sautéed baby squid that weren't even on a budget set menu. They sautéed tiny baby squid in a pan and put them on a plate, serving a small amount of caramelized onion with no broth and not even mixed in with the squid. It was quite unacceptable, to be honest. I find it outrageous that the price doesn't match the quality. And what's most striking is that there's another negative review about these squid and they haven't corrected the dish. And the service today was poor. They haven't been attentive to changing the plates, and when they did change them, they took the cutlery and didn't bring it back. Then they brought extra cutlery and still left it on the table. They brought the ribeye steak before we had any plates on the table, asked us what dessert we wanted, and left without everyone having a chance to choose, etc. On another note, it would be nice if they took better care of the bathroom. It's in quite a few places, and since the high chairs are stored there, they should at least keep it clean and not have food scraps on it. I hope to return and that everything will be great again, like it has been in the past.
