Grand Hotel

We are disappointed. One element was broken and freezing cold (it got quite cold in the room), the blinds were broken and the chain to pull it up and down was loose on the windowsill. As we were a little late for a restaurant reservation, we thought about reporting it when we got back, but the reception was closed even though it says on the website that it should be open 24 hours. Could have gotten some extra blankets or a fan heater if it was manned. Breakfast was supposed to be served until 10:30 but 45 minutes before it was very busy and not refilled, had to look for someone in the kitchen to even get milk for the coffee. It is not true that there is free parking as stated on the website (BW) So to the owners Meeting Småland Hotel Group I would like to say, the hotel is very nice, perfectly located in the middle of Jönköping, but a little more than a room to sleep in can be requested as a guest.

Great value. I like old hotels and this one feels definitely old. Some common areas look like require a bit of maintenance, but room was very clean and comfortable. Nice and helpful ladies working in reception. Good breakfast.

Unfortunately, I am very dissatisfied with our visit to your Christmas table. The reservation was made back in October and it was clearly stated in writing via email that one person in the party needed a special diet due to an allergy, while the others wanted chicken dishes. All information was correct, specified and provided in good time, which made us expect this to be confirmed and prepared. Upon arrival, we were told that “your food is on the buffet”. When we got there, however, there was no special diet at all. After we pointed this out to the staff, we were told: “Oh, we forgot to put it on.” After a long wait, we were finally served a plate that was sloppily and unappetizingly laid out. It gave the clear impression that something had been hastily added at the last minute, without regard to allergy, content or presentation. It felt neither safe, well thought out nor professional – rather like a makeshift solution. Given the high price, this is completely unacceptable. I basically couldn't eat anything, and the situation became both uncomfortable and stressful for the whole party. It was also very difficult to have to defend myself in front of my relatives, even though I had been careful and clear already when booking. The handling gave a strong impression that special diets and allergies are not taken seriously, which is particularly serious when it comes to the safety of the guests - especially when the information has been provided well in advance. Unfortunately, this was a very bad experience and not one I can recommend.
