Baragraph

Baragraph is a small bar on a side street off the main square of Barfüsserplatz. Cozy bar with not a whole lot going on, but its good for a quick pint in quiet surroundings, more a chill out bar to relax and reflect. Has an interesting décor going on, all 70’s style or at least that’s what it looks to me on the untrained eye, all bright colours and lots of light, and the service is always friendly and chatty. I like this place, had a Konig Pilsner, was fine in a bar that one can definitely while away a few hours. Also must add the beer is not as pricey here than in other establishments in the city.

Looked warm and cozy from the outside so we went in. Bartender was frazzled because he was making drinks for a group of 4 that arrived before us (place wasn’t busy). He came to us…we figured he wanted our order. He stated he was busy and we asked too many questiions. While he was pouring the beer, he started talking to 2 new people that arrived. Trying to make a joke, my husband said “ oh , you can do two things at once”.he made a snide remark about “you Americans” and gave him the finger . Ordered a beer instead became we figured that was about as much as he could handle. We were going to have another but then heard him talking shit about us to another patron, so we left. Went elsewhere and had a better time.

I've been a regular at this bar for many years because it's right next to my work and because they have a good draft beer that I like (Stella Artois). However, after my last two visits, I don't think I'll be going back for a drink. On both evenings, I went to the bar with two friends at 12:05 a.m. I said hello to the bartender (if I'm not mistaken, he speaks Spanish), and instead of saying hello back, he told me that if we wanted to order anything, it would be last call. I calmly asked him why he was announcing last call so early, even though the bar was still open for another hour according to the opening hours. His answer: His last tram home leaves at 1:30 a.m. If he misses it, he'll have to take his bike, so he'll have to be closed and gone by 1:00 a.m. ... So my questions are as follows: 1. Why does the restaurant only serve until midnight when its website states it's open until 1:00 AM? 2. If someone is unhappy with their working hours and has no means of transportation or any way to get home so late, why would they choose a job like this? Of course, we didn't want to stay until the morning. But I think it would have been sufficient if he had asked us at 12:30 or 12:40 AM if we wanted to order anything. That's how it works in all the other restaurants I know. As I mentioned above, I'm sorry I won't be visiting this place again, but with this kind of behavior, I unfortunately have no other choice.

staff was so cute, prices were more than reasonable. great place to relax!

This really fun bar in the heart of the city is truly a find. Cool interiors, warm staff, welcoming ambience, and friendly vibe transport you straight to edgy Berlin at its best. Come for the vibe, stay for the drinks, and make friends!

I was in Basel for the Eurovision Song Contest and wanted to watch the show with a friend at a bar. Despite being advertised, the show wasn't broadcast through the bar's sound system, so we couldn't hear anything. Also, the Aperol Spritz was watery and felt like it had no Prosecco at all.

Unfriendly staff. Open until 2 a.m., but kicked out at 1:30 a.m. We were insulted and called idiots!
