Cozy neighborhood pub with very friendly staff. They play great music and the overall atmosphere was calm and welcoming. A bit of a trek from touristy area so this makes the pub a little inclusive gem with local patrons, both gay and straight people.

If you are looking for a LGBTQ friendly bar that is more of a pub experience this is your place. The night we went it was super chill. You can have a conversation and they even have games for you to play. Definitely a laid back experience.

Okay this place? Obsessed. Fully, emotionally invested. First of all… the walls are covered in portraits of birds. Not like cute little accents, no no. Full-on avian gallery energy. At one point I felt judged by a pigeon, but in a supportive way. Like, “you’re doing amazing sweetie, order another drink.” The bar staff? I don’t even know how to explain it. Elite. Iconic. The kind of people who make you feel like a regular within 3 seconds, even if you’ve never been to Edinburgh before. Just… effortlessly lovely humans. And the vibe?? MEGA. SUPER. FRIENDLY. Like, everyone is just… good vibes only. You look around and it’s like a room full of people who all decided to be in a good mood at the same time. Suspicious? Maybe. Amazing? Absolutely. Also, can we talk about the alcohol-free options? Because hello?? Actually good. Not just “here’s some sad soda,” but like proper, thought-out drinks. We love to see it. Overall: birds watching you, staff adopting you, vibes immaculate. Would go back immediately. Would probably let the pigeon choose my drink next time.

Went this pub for the very first time today and it exceeded all expectations. The place is beautifully maintained—clean, comfortable, and inviting. The service was fantastic and the overall experience was simply amazing. A great spot I’ll happily return to!

Lovely queer pub. Seemed very inclusive and nice atmosphere. Popped in for a few drinks after finishing st cuthberts walking trail. Staff were lovely. Recommend!
