Stayed at the Whittington and Cat recently for a visit to ‘ull (Hull!) with work. Gill and the team are fab. Took one look at my dishevelled state; got my food order in, explained about my room and then set me up in snug so I could have some peace and gather my thoughts after a real long day of travelling. Food was lovely, drinks very reasonable and the room was a lovely size, clean and thoughtful touches, such a bottles of water. The welcome was just perfect after such a long day. Take note of their opening times; if you can’t keep to those, this isn’t the right place for you to stay :-)

We had the most fabulous 3 night stay at The Whittington and Cat. Room was lovely and very clean. Great location and lots of nice bars around but Jill and staff was so lovely and customers so friendly we just drank and ate there every night as food was delicious. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

The family went for Sunday lunch (6 adults 2 kids). Service was great, all the staff were attentive and so nice. Everyone really enjoyed the meals, and I felt we got really good value for money. We will certainly be going again. Parking in the retail park is 3hrs free. A bid thank-you to all the staff.

We celebrated our dad’s 90th birthday with Jill and her wonderful staff, and they made the day truly special. Jill is the best hostess — warm, welcoming, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Her curry went down an absolute storm; two family members even compared it to my late uncle’s famous curry, which is the highest praise our family can give. The venue was perfect, the atmosphere was lovely, and everyone had a fantastic day. Thank you, Jill, from the bottom of our hearts for helping us create such precious memories. Anjee & Jacky xx❤️❤️

Nice friendly pub

Had a lovely breakfast with my wife and daughter yesterday excellent value and good old fashioned service.The hotel is in a lovely location near a brilliant shopping are and ice arena.
