Hendham House Hotel

DO NOT BOOK TO STAY HERE I booked and paid £180 for a 2-night stay through Booking.com. My booking was confirmed, and I even received pre-arrival check-in information from the hotel. On the morning of arrival, Hendham House informed me they could not honour the booking due to overbooking and instructed me to cancel through Booking.com for a full refund. This left me scrambling to find last-minute alternative accommodation at a higher cost. I followed their instructions immediately, but despite multiple emails and phone calls, I have received no response and had to initiate a chargeback via my bank which took an entire month. Mistakes happen, but cancelling a confirmed booking on the day of arrival and then ignoring a customer's attempts to resolve the issue is unacceptable. I have retained evidence of the booking, the cancellation message, and my attempts to contact the hotel.

Amazing stay lovely rooms and nice area to chill out on a night!! Very cosy and such welcoming staff!!

What a great place! The people are so lovely! The outside area is really cosy. They have made an amazing stay here. I couldn’t get over the quality of the place from the price. If this place was in the northern quarter or near the centre of the city it would be booked out for months in advance! Highly recommend.

Dominic was very nice and accommodated us warmly and even helped get the best room available. Will definitely recommend this place 10/10

Really enjoyed the stay very much. The receptionists are very cool and helpful indeed. It's like a family run hotel; the father, daughter, and son. Sorry I couldn't remember all their names, I would love to call their names if I do :D. And the day I checked out young male staff helped us out and reminded us to bring a long a bottle of water as it's very hot. That's so sweet thing. Kindness made the stay more meaningful than just a hotel. Anyway, the garden is colourful, which cheered me to start the day!

Absolute dive. I'm sure the boss booked this one as a joke. Collected our key at 4.15 and handed it back in at 4.30. I'll find somewhere else to stay. The only people who would think this is a nice place to stay would be the homeless. And even they would think twice. Honestly I wouldn't let my dog sleep in a place like this.
