Über diesen Ort La! & Lafayette's
La! and Lafayette's is Margate's gay bar, at 13–15 High Street in the Old Town. Proud Pink Inns, who ran Sundowners on the seafront until it closed, opened it on 23 November 2024 and call it gay-owned and gay-managed. The ground floor is a lounge bar plus Lafayette's bistro (lunch, dinner and Sunday roasts). Through a door at the back, a basement has a dance floor, a stage and a VIP area for drag, bingo, cabaret and karaoke nights. Google reviewers give it 4.9 from about 30 reviews, though one 2026 review complains about a 12.5% service charge added to a food bill. It opens Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00, until midnight midweek and 2am on Friday and Saturday. Instagram (@la_margate) has the week's shows.
