Lovely location, nice hotel, wpuld be 5* but let down by the food. Hopefully that will be sorted soon as most people complained on the evening we were there.

Comfy beds, rooms are a good size. Good heating, not alot of natural light. Breakfast very good. Toiletries supplied in rooms, good sized TV, towels fluffy. Not aware of any lift, so stairs to climb. Some parts of the building very old, newer parts very modern all tastefully decorated. Staff friendly and attentive.

First time visiting for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the service we received from Erica was first class, recommended.

We went for Valentine's night (Friday) with our Assitance dog. We were given a table in the restaurant on Friday. No problems. The food was not good - my kebab was overcooked and my partners steak was flash fried. The dessert was fine. Saturday morning we were given a table in the bar and we ended up having a disagreement with the staff as he is a registered Assistance dog. They relented and let us sit in the restaurant Staff need training on how to handle Assistance Dogs..

I recently used Darcy’s Bar at the hotel for my 60th birthday celebrations. The events team were very helpful when I was making enquires about the venue and answered enquiries promptly. On the day the bar staff Angela, Elizabeth and Zoe were excellent, they were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. A huge thank you to them from me and my husband
