Samlesbury Preston Hotel

Really lovely hotel with the nicest staff. From front of desk to Clare, who greeted us for breakfast. The room was spotless, the bathroom was clean, and the food was just perfect, not alot on the menu, but just the right sort of grub! My only reason for not giving the 5th star was the drainage in the shower was abit slow, and the water was standing in the shower tray for too long.

On trip and didn’t want to eat at a services on the m6 so pulled off and got to the hotel for some food. Monday night and empty about five people. Staff were friendly food was actually quite tasty for chicken and chips. Nice decor.

Clean enough. Staff helpful. Not sure on there early check in arrangements as the couple before us could and the couple after. Our room wasn't ready. Why a room is pre allocated?!

I would not recommend this hotel in a million years. Worst customer service of my life. We booked a family room (we have two small children) and double room (for nana) in August 2023 for a family wedding in September 2024. They called us up the day before the wedding to cancel the family room as it was double booked. We began to search for alternative arrangements only to be called again to be offered a suite and the double room - great. That evening, however, we were called to be told that the suite shouldn’t have been offered to us - and that the double room was now unavailable too! We had the booking for over 365 days and we were given less than 12 hours notice of cancellation. We could have booked alternative arrangements in the afternoon but didn’t as we were proactively given another phantom room. The guy who called us up to cancel the second time was completely blasé. We’ve been offered no compensation or explanation for the repeated errors. At least you got to stay in the room at Fawlty Towers.

It's built in a nice place by the road with spacious parking. But the room downstairs are old. The heater does not work.

Fantastic hotel with friendly staff. Modern gym with excellent equipment. Room was very nice and spotless. Easy free parking. Would definitely recommend.

Our overnight stay at the Samlesbury was first class. The room was clean, comfortable with a well appointed bathroom. As we were part of a coach party the catering was organised to cope with us a body and to set menu format. Thus despite being denied access to the hotel's full menu it has to be admitted our meal was very acceptable. The same format and conditions applied to breakfast the next morning. Despite the proximity of a major road very close to the hotel, our room was delightfully quiet. As a hotel in which to break up, and recuperate from a long day's traveling the Samlesbury Hotel Preston can only be described as "Ideal". If our travels take us in the vicinity of the Samlesbury again, we will happily stay there again.
