Salvador Pride celebrates LGBTQ+ life in Brazil's most Afro-Brazilian city — a place where the cultural blend of African religious traditions, Carnival energy, and Bahian warmth creates a pride event unlike any other in South America. Held each October, the march through the historic Pelourinho district and the lower city reflects both Salvador's joy and the important intersectional politics of race and sexuality in contemporary Brazil.
