Valparaíso's Marcha (Carnaval) por la Diversidad y Disidencias Sexuales is the port city's annual LGBTQ+ pride and memorial march, held every September. Setting out from Plaza Sotomayor, the carnival-style parade commemorates the 16 people who died in the fire at the Divine nightclub on 4 September 1993 and demands rights and recognition for sexual and gender dissidence. It is convened by the Mesa de las Diversidades y Disidencias de Valparaíso, a coalition of local organisations including ACCIONGAY and the trans sex-workers' union Afrodita.
