Parque Nacional Olaya Herrera, the large green lung stretching between the La Macarena/Teusaquillo edge and lower Chapinero, is Bogotá's most historically referenced outdoor gay cruising area. Its wooded upper sections and quieter paths have long drawn men seeking discreet daytime encounters, and it remains the spot most consistently named across local guides and reporting. Discretion is expected and activity is informal rather than sanctioned. Bogotá street-crime caution applies strongly here: avoid the park after dark, keep valuables out of sight, and be aware that public sexual activity is not legally protected. Best visited in daylight hours.
