Pride Month Suriname

Pride Month Suriname runs through October in Paramaribo, organised by volunteers of the LGBT Platform Suriname: New Monday, PAREA, Suriname Men United, Women's Way Foundation and Trans in Action. The first public gay-rights march was held on 11 October 2011.

The 2026 programme opened on 1 October at TBL Cinemas with the film Anne+, followed by Wednesday film nights, a Future of Pride talk, a trans story hour and ballroom nights at OnStage Performing Arts (Times of Suriname, De Ware Tijd). It closes with the Pride Walk and the Q-Yard Party on Saturday 31 October 2026, setting off at 16:30 from Zus & Zo on Grote Combeweg. In 2025 the walk was on Saturday 25 October from the same place, followed by the Qyard Festival with Ballroom Suriname. Organisers haven't published a crowd figure; they speak of hundreds of people.
