Tillies

Underwhelming. Aesthetically gorgeous, but that's it. Service was terrible, waiting 30 mins after showing up with a reservation-- the place was empty. The food was subpar. I'm happy to pay a premium for food but it needs to meet expectations. Sadly this did not. This place is all hype. So many other good restaurants to visit instead.

So we went to Tillies for the first time about 2 weeks ago. And it was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere, service, and food was spectacular! We had snapper collars as an appetizer which were crunchy and delicious! (Sorry no pic) my wife had the chicken dish with the avocado that she loved! My son had octopus, and the Mac and cheese with shrimp, again home run! I had the burger and fries, which someone recommended. It was in the top 3 burgers I've ever eaten! And the fries were also on point! Desert was a chocolate mousse cake and a toasted coconut tres leches, also devine! We will go here every time we visit Cayman!

This place is exceptional! It is expensive but the experience is worth it. Fine dining on the beach with your feet in the sand! Can it get better? Shout out to Shakira- an excellent server.

We arrived for our reservation and found it had been given away becuase it rained and they had no where to seat outdoor diners. Other guests walked out after waiting an hour because they gave their table away too! I had to ask 3 servers for a piece of bread for my 1.5 yo. The service was slow and cold and the food was ok, portions were small. I know Cayman is pricey but in return I expect top service, quality and value. For those reasons, I gave it this 3 start rating. The whole team including managers need to be retrained in service and communication.

Our visit to Tillies started on a disappointing note. The first server we encountered, Michael, told us around 4:15 PM that no food was being served and that we had to wait at the bar. His attitude felt rude and unwelcoming. Thankfully, the lovely hostess Mariam immediately turned things around. She confirmed lunch was still being served, warmly welcomed us, and seated us. And then there was Neil — simply the BEST server we’ve had in Grand Cayman! Warm, attentive, genuinely friendly, and exceptional at what he does. He completely transformed our experience. Tillies itself is beautiful, with such great vibes, a relaxed atmosphere, and amazing energy. With people like Mariam and especially Neil, it’s a place you want to come back to. Neil is an absolute gem and the definition of outstanding hospitality! ❤️

Special thanks to the host. We had no reservation and she accommodated my wife and two kids at the last minute. Considering the time being Prime, this was a huge favor that we deeply appreciate. Service and food was excellent across the board, and surprisingly the bill was not extraordinary. With tax and tip we were under $200 USD. No drinks, but still. Will be coming here again for sure!

My husband and I had the best dinner of our vacation here. The vibe is sandy feet and sunset. Restaurant family doesn’t miss a beat, ask them for suggestions!!!! The food and cocktails….the food is more romantic than anything that happens after ;). Great date night spot!!!!!

I was amazed with the local goat curry. And not to forget the fresh breads rolls... deliciousssssss

Our group of 4 had a fantastic dinner at Tillies! We had a reservation for 5:30 and were there for a beautiful sunset! We cannot say enough good things about the staff… they were all so pleasant! We especially want to acknowledge the hostess, Michelle and our servers, Timothy and Girly! They went above and beyond to be sure we had a great meal and a great time! The restaurant is all open air and just beautiful!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolutely Exceptional Experience at Tillies! Our experience at Tillies in Grand Cayman was nothing short of phenomenal. From the atmosphere and food to the incredible level of service, this was truly one of those dining experiences you remember long after the evening is over. What really made the night exceptional, though, was the team who took care of us. Luz, the sommelier, was outstanding. Her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine passion for wine elevated the entire meal. She took the time to understand what we enjoyed and made excellent recommendations that paired beautifully with our dinner. She has that rare ability to share an incredible depth of knowledge while still making the experience relaxed, personal, and fun. Bishal, our server, was absolutely fantastic. Attentive without ever being intrusive, warm, professional, and incredibly polished. He anticipated what we needed before we even had to ask and made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the entire evening. Chege, the server assistant, was equally impressive. He was attentive, gracious, and seemingly always one step ahead. The teamwork between Bishal and Chege was seamless and is exactly what exceptional hospitality should look like. The food was outstanding, the setting was beautiful, and the service was truly five-star from beginning to end. Tillies is fortunate to have people like Luz, Bishal, and Chege representing the restaurant. They didn’t simply serve us dinner — they created an experience. We have enjoyed many wonderful restaurants over the years, but it is rare to find a team that leaves this strong of an impression. Tillies is an absolute must when visiting Grand Cayman. Ask for Bishal and Chege, and definitely spend some time with Luz when choosing your wine. You will be in exceptional hands. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars without hesitation. We will absolutely be back!
