Have shopped at Saks for over 50 years. My recent trip was disappointing. I came looking for a dress or pant suit options for a wedding here in Chicago. No one was interested in helping me even when I asked. Maybe I did not have a dressy look on. Its winter and cold here. I finally was able to find someone to help me after I pulled some clothes. She was very helpful and I did end up finding a dress and used my saks credit card. I know the company is in financial trouble maybe they should train their sales help to be helpful.

Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago is an absolute dream. The store itself is gorgeous—elegant, spacious, and a joy to shop in. Their after-holiday sales are unreal, with discounts up to 70% off, making luxury feel surprisingly accessible. The shoe department is truly fantastic, with an incredible selection and knowledgeable staff who make the experience even better. Whether you’re browsing or seriously shopping, everything feels elevated and well-curated. Between the stunning atmosphere, amazing deals, and top-tier shoe department, this Saks location is a must-visit. I always leave impressed (and happy with my purchases!). I absolutely love shopping there. Especially for the after holiday season sales.

Saks is an interesting store. As you go up the floors to the men clothing or shoes, the employee behavior is very different. You have animated employees talking to each other or on the phone, which seems a bit odd as it takes away from providing a luxury experience, which saks is priced at. The employees are all pleasant once you ask em a question and are not in your face trying to get a sale.

It's a great option for tourists interested in fashion and luxury, as it carries brands and items that aren't available in Mexico, and it often has excellent prices on luxury brands during the holiday season. The young man who helped us in the women's shoe section was very friendly and speaks perfect Spanish.

Terrible customer service. There’s better department stores to visit on Michigan ave. Don’t waste your time here

Excellent service — the floor manager was very helpful and extremely friendly. Saks always has a beautiful women’s clothing collection.

My favorite high end store

*Warning* I ordered two expensive dresses from Saks (Camilla and Love Shack Fancy), one $695 and the other $595. Saks delivered both dresses to me each squished up (not folded) in a tiny thin plastic bag causing both dresses to be so badly wrinkled that I have to have both new dresses professionally steamed. See attached pic of the badly wrinkled Love Shack Fancy dress. It is outrageous for Saks Fifth Avenue to fail to properly pack items for delivery and to deliver new items in such poor condition. I called Saks' customer service to report receipt of these items in unacceptable condition and spoke to supervisor Miriam. Saks customer service acknowledged that the items were delivered in unacceptable condition but refused to offer compensation to pay for the professional steam cleaning. This is atrocious customer service. Saks Fifth Avenue once took great care in packaging items for delivery, but it’s clear they’ve since cut costs, unfortunately at the expense of their customers. Saks does not care about its customer base nor customer service. Shame on Saks Fifth Avenue. I will now take my business to Bloomingdales and Nordstroms!
