Das Lux Hotel

Great spot downtown. Loved the jacuzzi/fireplace king room.

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend and had an amazing time! The front desk staff were always helpful throughout the stay, even giving us a complementary bottle of champagne to celebrate my birthday. We got a corner suite with a Jacuzzi and we’re beyond impressed with the room. We were shocked by how tall it was, the beautiful decor and fireplace all tied together beautifully. The bathroom was clean with a great jacuzzi and large shower, biggest one we’ve ever had at a hotel. The king bed was soft and perfect, making it very hard to get up in the mornings! The rooms AC worked great, which is something I always get nervous about with hotels. The complementary breakfast was delicious and had so many options we were both very impressed. We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in town!!

We had a fantastic stay the Des Lux! This is my first time staying there, but the second or third time our journalism team has stayed there. We were there for 5 or 6 days/nights, and the people who work there were always so kind and helpful, taking the extra steps to make us feel at home. From graciously providing our special requests to shuttling us to and from our work location to the week, they were always so happy to help! The full breakfast was great, the Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, the bed was comfy, and the hot water in the shower was superb. The breakfast crew was always friendly in the morning. The location is also convenient to restaurants, parks, grocery stores, etc., Highly recommend.

We had a one night stay and it was an incredible experience. Room view was beautiful, overlooking downtown. Customers service was warm and welcoming from the beginning to end! Love Iowans. ❤️

Des Lux Hotel in Des Moines was an excellent stay and absolutely lived up to expectations. We chose it because it looked like one of the best hotel options in the area, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in a king room with the fireplace, large windows, high ceilings, and a double vanity bathroom, and the room felt spacious, comfortable, and upscale. The breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety of options — honestly one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve seen. We also spent some time at the bar downstairs, which had a great atmosphere, and later used the jacuzzi and sauna in the basement. Both were excellent additions and made the stay feel even more relaxing. The only real downside is parking. You have to use the parking ramp across the street, and for an overnight stay it was about $15. Not a major issue, but worth knowing ahead of time. Overall, Des Lux was a great experience from start to finish. Comfortable rooms, great amenities, excellent breakfast, and a very unique feel compared to a standard hotel. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting downtown Des Moines.

Highly recommended for travelers looking for luxury, comfort, and personalized service in downtown Des Moines.
