Riviera Motel

Riviera Motel is an old-style roadside motel at 21350 West McNichols Road in northwest Detroit, near the Southfield border. It is listed as gay-friendly but is a plain mainstream motel, not a gay venue. Despite the city tag, it is in Detroit, not Royal Oak. Google reviews average about 3.5 from around 220 ratings. Expect basic rooms, no website, and booking by phone or walk-in. Motels like this on Detroit's mile roads vary a lot in standards, so read recent reviews and look at the room before paying. Royal Oak's bars and Ferndale's gay scene are a 15- to 20-minute drive east.
