Residence Inn by Marriott Amelia Island

A very nice hotel with apartment-style rooms featuring a separate kitchen, living room, and bedroom. It's quiet, the surroundings are pleasant, and the front desk staff are attentive and genuinely friendly. Thanks to Shawn, Tiffany, Dawn, and Franck at breakfast (and apologies if I misspell your names). We're staying for a week! ✨👌 The breakfast changes fairly often, it's excellent value for money, the pool is a bit small but still enjoyable, and a great bonus is the free shuttle that takes you to the beach or other places, such as downtown Fernandina's Old District where parking costs almost $3 an hour 🫣. You can't reserve it in advance; it's first come, first served, from 9 am to 9 pm ✨. And for groceries, there's a Publix 3-minute drive away, Walmart 5 minutes away 😊, and the nearest beach is 3 minutes away 🏖️

Booked here July 3–5 with my young child. Would not do it again. On the second day, the AC completely failed. No air from the vents, "Err" on the panel, and a window that only cracked open. Outside was around 90°F. Front desk tried a thermostat reset and a battery change; nothing worked. I was told the maintenance crew was off duty and the hotel was sold out for July 4, so no other room was available. Their fix: three large box fans running in the room all night. I couldn't sleep, and I was especially worried about my young daughter and her sensitive respiratory system in that hot, humid, suffocating air. The next morning we left the room for fresh air and only came back briefly to shower before checkout. No manager was on-site during any of it. After checkout, I called to talk to the manager three times — every time the manager were "in a meeting" or promised a callback that never came. Equipment failures happen. No after-hours maintenance, no room to move to, and a manager who won't return calls isn't the Marriott experience I expected — and it's not one I'd recommend for anyone traveling with children.

If you’re looking for a great hotel, not on the beach, but close to it this would be my choice. Rooms are large and spacious to staff is friendly and free breakfast.

Awesome stay

Amelia Island is a wonderful destination, but staying at this hotel was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. There is a walking trail right next to the property, and we even spotted an alligator in a small nearby lake. The beach is also close by, which was very convenient. Our family woke up early one morning to watch the sunrise, and it was absolutely beautiful. The pool area was great as well, and our kids had a fantastic time swimming and playing. The breakfast was excellent. There was a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, and everything was clean and well organized. Overall, this hotel was clean, comfortable, and family-friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

You have to look pretty hard to find something wrong with our stay (ok, we were out water for an hour but not that big of a deal, they were stressing and working hard to fix it so all good). From the moment of check-in, with a mimosa, to our departure, with a chardonnay, it was great. Staff is INCREDIBLY thoughtful and kind. Always in a good mood and smiling...give me what they have...Rooms were clean and spacious (we had a 2 br suite), pool was clean and not crowded, Breakfast was plentiful and had a nice variety and the staff were wonderful replenishing and checking if you needed anything. Lastly and most importantly the shuttle drivers, the patience of Job especially as it was Shrimpfest weekend! Organized and patient and just great! I'm SO, SO glad we stayed here and not another location, this was the perfect spot and everyone on staff made our stay so enjoyable. Kudos Marriott!!! THIS should be the standard for all your properties!!! Thank you all!!!

We had a wonderful vacation! The whole place smells amazing, the breakfast was delicious, and the pool area is beautifully done. Definitely enjoyed our stay!

The rooms were lovely and comfortable. I only gave it a 4 out of 5 because there were a few things that seemed to need updating: 1) rust/stains at the bottom of the dishwasher and the soap dispenser lid didn't stay closed. 2) it's a small thing, but the ceilings seemed dated (?) 3) Internet reception was - at times - subpar. The staff were AMAZING -- DEFS the best part of our stay! They were friendly, attentive, helpful and oh so courteous! And the breakfasts were EXCELLENT as well! The location was also excellent! The Beach was pleasant 6-8 minutes walk away and there were several really great restaurants nearby (of varying cost brackets, which was good). Beautiful beach, really nice hot tub at the hotel and a lovely firepit just outside the hotel lobby en route to the hot tub and pool! (I didn't use the pool because the water wasn't warm enough for *me*, though other guests seemed to enjoy it just fine ... it probably will be great close to summer!)
