Great staff and owner

Very cute cottages and property - all super clean! I was traveling alone and I felt very safe there. The owners are so nice, personable and accommodating.

Absolutely beautiful! I wish we could’ve stayed longer. ❤️ we had a lake front view and it was a gorgeous view to wake up to!

Located just north of Avon Park on Lake Brentwood, Hunnewell's Cottages are a wonderful choice while visiting the Avon Park/Sebring area. Each "cottage" (actually, more like a cozy duplex apartment) is spotlessly clean with comfortable bed(s), mini-fridge, microwave, convenient parking right outside your door, updated bathrooms, and a lake with a dock just steps away. There is a clubhouse with a full kitchen for cooking when a microwave won't do. The clubhouse also features couches and chairs, a pool table, and a large wall mounted flat screen television. Restaurants and big-box shopping centers are located within a couple of miles in Avon Park proper if you require anything, and the locally owned restaurants are a very good choice over the national chain places. The Hunnewell's are absolutely great people and any issue is dealt with as soon as possible. We mentioned a squeaky hinge that we were afraid was going to bother our neighbors and it was corrected the same morning. Try to get that kind of service at a big national property! We will certainly return to Hunnewell's the next time we're in the area to visit family. Update: We returned to find everything about the rooms still applies; sparkling clean, well maintained, and the small dock has been rebuilt and supplemented by a spacious waterfront gazebo, complete with cushioned furniture and Cornhole games. I thanked Dan for costing me several thousand dollars, because my wife now wants a bathroom "as nice as the ones here!" We continue to highly recommend Hunnewell's as a preferred location.

Terrible quality, unprofessional staff. The owner is a cheapskate who cuts corners in fixing ANYTHING and there's mold in the apartments. Gators always around the area, right up against a major highway so no privacy. Always cameras watching you, the owner constantly smokes cigarettes and paces around on his phone.
