Akbar

Today was my first time going to Akbar on a Monday show—and probably my last Monday there. Let me be clear: I love Akbar as a bar. The vibe and energy are great. But the Monday show was not what I expected at all. I was hoping for something fun, like comedy or drag, but instead the performance included topics about Jewish issues/politics that I honestly didn’t understand and wasn’t there to hear about. I go out to have fun, not to leave confused. The nudity during the performance also just wasn’t my thing. Long story short: I still love Akbar, but Monday nights are definitely not for me.
Bar tender was the most pleasant person I’ve ever met in my whole life I would trust her with first born I want her at my wedding
My number one favorite gay bar 🖤
NOT FRIENDLY/TERRIBLE SERVICE. If you are not a local, the Thursday bartender ignores you. To be served, non locals need to wait until the bartender ends its conversation with the neighborhood customers. When you ask to be helped, the male bartender rolls his eyes.
